Values & Culture
We’re building the agency that defines product design in the AI era.
Ten years in, Brandcave is neither a factory nor a staffing firm. We embed senior product designers as full owners inside your team, backed by a strategy layer, an operating system, and a community of designers working at the frontier. These are the values that make it work.
The model
Team-managed staff augmentation
Most agencies pick one of two shapes, so we built a third.
The factory model
Requirements go in, work comes out. You build a relationship with a project manager, never the people doing the actual work.
Staff augmentation
A premium to fill a seat with a body. An individual contributor, sourced for the project, with no system behind them.
What we do
A senior designer who owns the work end-to-end, sitting inside your team. Backed by a fractional CPO, our operating system, and a community of designers who have each other's backs. The focus of a single owner with the leverage of a team.
What we’re building
Most agencies are watching the ground shift. We’re the ones moving it.
AI-native tooling is collapsing the distance between design and code, between idea and shipped product. Our designers use these tools to operate on the edge of what’s possible, with workflows most teams haven’t figured out yet.
Our operating system captures and compounds what we learn, so every designer on the team gets sharper every month, not just the ones doing the experimenting. Externally, that means clients ship faster, ship better, and ship things their competitors can’t.
Don’t build a better ship. Share the same world.

Four values. One acronym we actually use.
Support, Ownership, Openness, Authenticity. Here’s what each one looks like in practice, and what it doesn’t.
Support
We ask questions freely, share knowledge generously, and make time for each other across projects, teams, and experience levels. When someone reaches out, we show up. A culture where help flows easily makes every designer's work better, and every designer feel like they belong.
“Can you do this for me?”
“Hey, I'm struggling with this workflow. Does anybody have time to hop on a call and help me get unstuck?”
Ownership
We take initiative and see our work through, from first sketch to final pixel. Every designer is empowered to make decisions, raise concerns, and advocate for the user without waiting to be asked. We treat every product we ship as if our name is on it.
“What am I doing today?”
“Here are the steps I'm taking today on this ongoing project. Anything to add?”
Openness
We work on the bleeding edge of what's possible, so the way we work changes often. Openness is leaning in when we're shown a new tool, workflow, or way of thinking, even when the old way was working just fine. Coachability at a high level.
“This is how I've always done it in Figma.”
“I'm not sure I see the value yet, but show me how you'd approach it and I'll run with it.”
Authenticity
We show up as we are, without performance or pretense. We say what we actually think, admit what we don't yet know, and ask for help without hesitation. Honest conversations about where we are in our craft make us better designers and stronger teammates. Growth starts with the truth.
“That sounds stupid and I don't want to do it.”
“I'm apprehensive about that task, and I'm not sure I understand it. Can you walk me through it?”
