ProducerOur History
Since our founding, Brandcave has grown from a small agency into a leading software product development company. With each milestone, we've refined our approach, successfully launching hundreds of digital products along the way.
Brandcave and Illo the Yeti is Born
The journey began with Cody, who brought a background in marketing, and Michael, with experience in video production, decided to start a marketing agency. After leaving a position as the creative director at a PR agency, Cody naively believed starting his own agency would allow him to work less. Boy, was he wrong.
First UX Project for Dirty Jobs’ Mike Rowe
The project that changed everything came when Vice Software recognized Brandcave's potential and tasked Cody with creating a prototype for a mobile and web app to be featured on Mike Rowe's show, Returning the Favor. In just one weekend, Cody completed the initial UX project. While he had designed software in various roles throughout his career, this opportunity set Brandcave on a new path, shaping its future in the world of software product development.
Brandcave Launches Ashore
Ashore was born out of a challenge Cody noticed almost as soon as he started his creative agency: the client review and approval bottleneck. In 2020, Brandcave launched Ashore to automate the proofing process and accelerate approvals by 50%. This enterprise-level product, packed with features like real-time collaboration, team and user management, and automated workflows, was entirely conceived of and designed by Brandcave.
Brandcave Documents Blueprint Agile
Blueprint Agile wasn't developed overnight. It evolved organically through hundreds of projects over the course of many years. As the process grew and matured into a formal methodology, we recognized it was time to document it step by step. Today, Blueprint Agile is fully outlined, and you can explore it in detail in our book.
